A very strong blue diamond is a diamond that exhibits very strong fluorescence when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light, and that appears blue in color under certain lighting conditions. Fluorescence is the emission of light by a substance that has absorbed light or other electromagnetic radiation of a different wavelength. In the case of diamonds, fluorescence occurs when diamonds absorb UV light and then emit it at a longer wavelength in the visible spectrum.
